Bartley and Company Art presents MARY-LOUISE BROWNE : REIFY from 13 July to 7 August 2010 in Auckland. Mary-Louise Browne spent the first third of this year on an artist residency at the Taipei Artists Village in Taiwan. Working predominantly with Taiwanese greenstone, she explored ideas around commemoration and the memorial and souvenir. These ideas continue to play out in her new exhibition opening next week.

The work of Arthur Lavine, an internationally known photographer whose work is represented in many museums throughout the United States, will be exhibited in a group show in Balboa Park. "Point of View" an exhibition of fine art photography and digital art by six award winning, artists - Janine Free, Arthur Lavine, Dana Levine, Lev Tsimring, John Valois, and Phyllis Weiss runs from Wed. July 7th through Mon. July 19th , 11 am to 4 pm daily, at Gallery 21 in Spanish Village. Digital art is art that relies on computer software to create or significantly modify an artist’s work - a digital transformation of the natural world, either art created by computer graphics or images initially taken with a digital camera.

Submit photographs of portraits and landscapes under non-daylight conditions, and to make people reflect on the role of the sky as a backdrop (or, at times, a protagonist) of the scenes in which we move. Photos identifying in a creative way outstanding cases of light pollution will be highlighted.
